First day in Chelsea

Today we had a meeting with the Cadogan Estate. I was fascinated by the history of Chelsea and each building they talked about. I have to admit that at first I did not understand what I was expected to do exactly, so I just listened and tried to get a hold of the history. The more I listened about different stories about Chelsea, the more it became interesting and exciting for me.
During the lecture/briefing I made some notes, so I could have a better understanding about the area. These notes are represented below:

The Cadogan Estate

Sloane Square is an unique and luxurious place. InChelsea is the first site that brings together all the information about Chelsea.
The Cadogan Estate has been around 300 years in a relationship with Chelsea. It is one of the original 'Great Estates' of London. It is responsible for creating urban framework and employing holistic and proactive management approach (helping out independent brands if they bring something different/ interesting to the area).

Chelsea Unique Identity - why people want to come here, what has Chelsea to Offer?

* Geographic features: The River Thames, Chelsea's proximity to the old city of London, The King's Road

*5 institutions: Royal Hospital, Chelsea Physic Garden, The Royal Court Theatre, The Cadogan Hall, Saatchi Gallery

Interesting fact:

* King's Road was specifically meant for protecting king, it was his private road. He wanted to see only beautiful things from his carriage, because of that Chelsea isn't industrial as other riverside areas, there is a lot of green.

In the end of the day, I began to grasp the idea behind our project and started to understand the history within it.
